Flower Mound, Texas (January 31, 2012) – Ivie & Associates, Inc. has been recognized as the recipient of three awards related to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Big D Climb event, including a prestigious National Recognition Award. Ivie received The Vision of Hope Donor Recognition Award, which honors the volunteers and trustees who have helped to advance the mission of the LLS through contributions.
Libby Kaczmarek, Special Events Coordinator for the North Texas Chapter of the LLS, presented the award to Ivie during a special breakfast to celebrate Ivie associates who participated or volunteered at the Big D Climb, which took place on Saturday, January 28.
"Ivie embodies what this event is all about," Kaczmarek said. "It is a group of people who are dedicated to finding a cure for blood cancers and helping patients live longer, healthier lives. Companies like Ivie are the driving force behind funding the top blood cancer researchers in the world. A cure to cancer is possible in our lifetime, and Ivie will help us get there."
This year was the second year in a row that Ivie & Associates served as Corporate Chair for the Big D Climb. In addition to the Vision of Hope Donor Recognition Award, Ivie also received the Team Spirit award for climbers during the Big D Climb as well as the Second Place award for team time.
"We applaud our associates who embrace this event each year and raise funds for efforts to finding a cure for blood cancers," stated Warren Ivie, Founder and CEO of Ivie & Associates. "We are honored and appreciate the awards our company received, and we are proud to again serve as the honorary chair. We applaud the efforts of LLS and all of the participants that work tirelessly towards this important initiative. "
